Garter Snake in the Kitchen

Danielle called today to say that she found a snake in the kitchen and sent this picture.  Not sure I could make out what it was but did not look venomous.

She called again later to say that she had wrangled it out of the house and released it in the yard and had identified it as an Eastern Black-Neck Garter snake.  It is one of the prettiest snakes I have seen.  I wish I had been able to see it in person.
