Deanna Litke Plumer Memorial Service

On Oct 22, 2014, my step-mother, Deanna Litke Plumer, lost her struggle with cancer and passed away at home with her husband, Stan, at her bedside. My brother Eric and I drove my father Stan up to Bloomfield, NM for the memorial service in nearby Aztec, NM. The simple memorial service was held at the Aztec Nazarene church on Saturday morning, Nov 1, 2014, and was attended by close family and friends.

In the entry hall of the church was displayed a photo collage of all of the friends and family who had had their pictures taken with their Team Deanna tee-shirts.

The following obituary, written by her Brother Greg Litke, was posted to Facebook on Oct 25, 2014 at 22:25.
Deanna Litke-Plumer, born January 12, 1948 in Lamar, Colorado, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on October 22, 2014 after a brave struggle with cancer. She worked for many years as a librarian at NMSU, and helped spread the gift of knowledge to many. Deanna would give of all she had to any she met, touched many lives with her love and compassion, and was honored that so many called her friend. She is survived by her husband Stanley Plumer, her sons Patrick and Christopher Valdez, Step-sons Edward and Eric Plumer, her parents Irvin and Doris Litke, grandchildren Jasmine Ramirez, Lily Valdez, and Nicholas Plumer, and multiple other loving family members too numerous to list. A celebration of her life will be held at the Aztec Church of the Nazarene on November 1st at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation in Deanna's name to the American Cancer Society, so that the love she sowed will serve to fight the disease that took her from us.
We will miss you Deanna. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Stan.
