Our first bird of interest was a flock of Fulvous Whistling Ducks resting in the marsh grasses. It was not possible to approach them without their flushing and settling further away. This was a new species for us.
Further in, we found a half dozen White Ibis feeding in the marsh. These were also difficult to approach. I made sure that Vali was in Danielle's boat and she stayed back while I got this one.
From one of the duck blinds in the inlet, I observed a juvenile Neotropic Cormorant resting on a post.
